LP ripper is a small program that allows you to decode and split your WAV files into mp3 and wma format. The main goal of this software is to let you digitalize all vinyl LP’s and cassettes tapes.
Once you’ve ripped your cassettes or LP’s to a wav file, you will then be able to split, edit, and finally convert the files to MP3/WMA format.
Digitalizing you music has lots of advantages. You will be able to store all your music in your PC, making sure it will not lose sound quality with time, and creating backup files, plus you will have the chance to listen to your music anywhere, upload it to your mobile phone or MP3 player and listen to your favorite songs while jogging, or burn it to a CD, and play it in your car.
The program features great editing capabilities, it will let you add silence spaces between the tracks when splitting them, fade-in and fade-out tracks, save them as wav files, or encode to MP3 format, edit track times and edit the silence time between them.
Furthermore, LP Ripper has a great trimming feature, allowing you to check, preview, and carefully split tracks. When you are done editing and you’ve made sure everything is in order, then it is time to edit the album and track names.
Besides these powerful features, the program lets you change the menu style, select the default directories where to save and open files, and even choose the encoding options, pick from the encoders LP Rippers offers, or use your favorite one (and encode the wav file to any other format you wish to), select how much info should be included in the output file and choose the conversion quality you prefer, plus a few other features.
The basic requirements in order to run the program are 2.3 MB free disk space, LP Ripper works on Windows 98/XP/Vista/Me.
